We recommend packing essentials like clothing, toiletries, and other necessities. Each resident’s room is their personal space, and we encourage families to get creative in making it feel as warm and familiar as possible. If you are able to, bring along family photos, favorite figurines, lace doilies, or cherished keepsakes ahead of move-in day, adding these personal touches can make their new room feel like home from day one.
When your loved one arrives, they’ll be warmly welcomed by a staff member who will give them a personal tour of their new home. During this time, they’ll get to know the mealtime routines, daily activities, and have a chance to meet other residents and staff. After they’ve unpacked, their carer will spend time with them, going over how to use the 24-hour call system and answering any questions they may have.
On their first day, we’ll create an initial care plan tailored to their specific health and social needs, as well as their personal preferences. This plan will be reviewed regularly to ensure they’re receiving the highest quality of care.
For their first night, our night staff will be fully briefed on their preferred bedtime and morning routine, helping them feel settled and supported from the start.
A typical day for your loved one might begin with a gentle wake-up call, followed by a helping hand from our caring staff to get ready. Breakfast could be a cozy full English and a hot cuppa with friends in the lounge. After breakfast, they may catch up on the morning news or join others for an activity led by our coordinator—today, perhaps a lively game of bingo or live music.
At lunch, they’ll enjoy a freshly prepared meal like coq au vin, crafted by our chef with care. Afterward, they might choose to relax with a soak in a power-assisted bath or enjoy a professional blow-dry in our in-house salon. The evening brings a delicious third meal, served in a welcoming setting or their private ensuite room if they prefer. As the day winds down, they’ll have the freedom to unwind in their room, surrounded by familiar comforts or in the company of friends.
We welcome visitors to all of our care homes. We have an open-door policy, enabling visits at any time and we encourage family and friends to visit often.
All our care is provided in a person-centered framework. This means that we take a holistic approach which prioritises individualised care, tailored to a person’s preferences. We care for our residents as unique individuals, always embracing a person’s social history and background.
The cost of care depends on the resident’s assessed needs, the type of room selected, and any additional services required. Many residents either self-fund or receive assistance from a public body, such as a Local Authority or Health Trust. To explore potential funding, please get in touch, we are here to guide you.
Prospective clients as well as friends and family are welcome to visit the home at any time, either just by dropping in or calling ahead to book an appointment. Our staff will do their best to make themselves available to show visitors around and answer any questions should you have any.
We can help as quickly as you need us to. As soon as an enquiry is made then the process commences with client details etc.
This depends on your circumstances and type of care required, but a number of options are available. Care can be funded by social services or a private contract, or a combination of both.
We are able to provide rooms for married couples but this does depend on category of care and what rooms are available at the time, however we will always try to accommodate where we can.
